Learning is the ability to make a series of inter-related connections: the more connections, the greater the chance of success. At Maccabi Academy lessons & subjects are not separate components but are taught as part of a broader, inter-connected picture of our world. We call it integrated theme-based learning. Here's how it works:

Our curriculum is organized around general themes. Each theme provides a common backdrop that is studied from multiple academic, experiential and Jewish angles. Students may take a week or several months studying a theme, depending on how thoroughly it will be explored, with one theme often connected organically to the next.

This integrated approach connects content in ways that respect the unique learning style of each child. It teaches them how to apply knowledge learned in one area to finding solutions in other areas. The net result is a holistic perspective that provides confidence in approaching new areas of learning.

Additionally, integrated theme-based learning is physically engaging, promotes group cohesiveness and motivates students based on their individual strengths.
