As the only Jewish day school in Western North Carolina, Maccabi Academy fills a vital need in the Asheville Jewish community.

A Cornerstone of Jewish Education: We are a community-wide training ground for tomorrow's Jewish leaders. We provide a solid Jewish education that instills a strong Jewish identity in our students. But because Maccabi Academy is completely pluralistic and non-denominational, it provides an excellent foundation upon which the local synagogue Sunday School programs can build. Maccabi Academy also serves as a clearinghouse for Jewish educational materials such as books, software, and games.

A Portal for the Unaffiliated: For many, we are an alternative gateway back into the Jewish community, allowing families to re-connect to the Jewish identify in an environment that is safe and non-judgemental. From here, many of these families go on to become more and more active with other Jewish organizations.

Family Education: Without a family commitment to strong Jewish identity, all of our work is in vain. So we are continually looking for ways to engage parents, siblings, and even grandparents. As a result, we're giving the entire family a vested interest in Jewish continuity.
